Fun in Zion National Park

We absolutely loved Zion National Park. We knew it would be one of our favorite spots on our trip. We spent 10 days in Zion and wanted to explore all the areas that we didn’t get to explore on our last west trip.

We spent Father’s Day here and had alot of fun spoiling Eric. Cam made a new recipe which had peanut butter cups in it. It was a huge hit and gone in minutes. We spent the day swimming and relaxing around the resort for Eric’s special day.

We went on a drive to visit Kolob Reservior and packed a picnic lunch that day. The roads were super dusty because of having no rain. That was about the only downfall of the drive to visit that area. If you are visiting Zion National Park and have more than a week there, I strongly suggest taking the time to drive out to this area. It’s beautiful and wasn’t crowded at all. You can even pitch a tent and camp in the area. The rock formations and landscape were beautiful, especially late afternoon.

These picnic lunch boxes were a hit on our trip, too. So easy to pop these boxes in our hiking bags and be able to keep our food dry each day. We placed ice packs up against our boxes and water pouches in our bag and it worked wonderfully.

One of my favorite things to do was to grill out each night and have dinner together outside. We spent alot of time near our Blackstone grill and around a picnic table. Such great memories. Our favorite dinner on this leg of our trip was taco salad on a tablecloth. No plates or utensils needed. The kids LOVED this dinner. I figured it was because no one had to load the dishwasher after in the bus.

After dinner, we decided to head to Springdale to grab some last minute pictures before heading to our next destination. I’ll never forget the beauty of this night. Take me back!

We had to get a picture by the Zion National Park sign as a family in our adventure buddy shirts.

Goodbye Zion….stay tuned to see all the fun we had at Capitol Reef

Zion River Resort is our favorite place. We made sure to make this a stop after it was a favorite resort visit on our last trip.
