Quick stop in New Mexico

We had a quick stop in New Mexico overnight before heading to Sedona, Arizona.

New Mexico was very hot. We didn’t do much when we were there. Basically a quick dinner before heading to bed. The time change was tough for the kids to fall asleep. We had to be up early the next morning for our 5 hour drive to Sedona.

This was a tree made from old hubcaps. It was a pretty cool concept, but it was blazing hot.

There were many different vintage cars and campers at the RV campground.

Not one blade of grass anywhere. It was no fun to deal with all of the dust everywhere. Ellie tried running that evening, but the dust was too thick. Have you been to New Mexico?

Yes. Harvey’s one son Lived in NM. We arrived early one evening to his home during a sand storm. You’ve heard of Illinois dust storms, well this was pure sand. We walked to the house with head down, eyes shut and mouth closed. It was terrible. Sand blowing everywhere. When we got inside our bodies snd clothing had sand everywhere. It also was In our suitcases etc. You don’t go out during the day unless it’s early morning or evening. It’s so very hot. But the countryside scenery is absolutely beautiful. You have to love it to live there. Of course I could say the same about Illinois!🙄

    1. I remember that now. Yes, I also remember when we watched your animals so you all could travel out west. The dust and wind was insane. I can believe that about keeping your eyes shut and mouth closed. Crazy how within each area we’ve been it also looks so different. Hope you are well in IL. I heard it’s hot there too.
