Canyon Overlook Zion Trailhead/Pool Day

We have been busy nonstop exploring all parts that Zion National Park has to offer. We had a snag in our plans though when Cam woke up with a terrible ear ache. After an online visit, we determined that he needed meds for swimmers ear. Not sure how an online health apt can determine this, but we were able to get meds. We decided to take it easy and just be. We let Cam rest most of the day and decided to head out for an evening sunset Canyon overlook hike. We heard from locals that this is the best place to see the sunset over the canyon. We loaded up our bags and heading out with a packed picnic dinner.

The hike ended right above this arch. It was a short mile hike but the views were worth it.

This view made me quite nervous. I tried to make it to the edge, but mentally I couldn’t do it. I love when I get pictures of the sun in the photos. The wind was insane.

This is probably one of our favorite spots in the park. The Altar of Sacrifice, Stained Wall, and West Temple are all present. I’m continued to be thankful that Biblical references are used throughout this park. God’s beauty is everywhere around.

Thank you Jesus for giving our family this wonderful trip. We are so very thankful.

Sweet Cam by the pool waiting for his ear to feel better.

  1. Your buddy Glenn, here in Albuquerque from Camping World, its awesome we get to follow your journey. Keep posting I enjoy reading and viewing the photos. When my son swam in from middle through college, the parents would combine special ear preventative drops of 90% alcohol and white vinegar proportionally

    1. Glenn,
So great to hear from you! What a great idea. I’ve added white vinegar to our grocery list. Thanks so much for the recommendation. Hope you are enjoying your summer and staying cool!
