Out of all the hikes we’ve completed over the years in different states, this hike is OUR FAVORITE! You don’t need a permit for this particular hike. On our last vacation out west two years ago we hiked about 5 miles in. We rented gear from http://www.zionoutfitters.com
We rented boots, neoprene socks, and hiking sticks. The package cost about $200 give or take for a family of six and totally worth every penny. We felt like it was nice not having to spend days drying out our hiking boots and the sticks were perfect for the rocks we had to climb over. The neoprene socks are an added bonus with the cold water. At some points we were neck deep in water, but it was so worth every cold shiver and second we were hiking. The great thing about renting from the company above is that we were able to pick up our gear the night before. We were all set and ready to go the following morning. We brought our packed snack boxes and we were ready for a great day.

First picture bright and early. The water temperature was a shocker at 7 a.m. The water temperature was 68 degrees.
This is the rental gear. I would never hike the Narrows without the gear above.

I can’t wait to frame this picture when we get home in August.

We hiked about 12 miles total that day. If you ever head to Zion, hike the Narrows. You won’t be disappointed.
